Presenting new materials from WP3 and upcoming workshops
September 12, 2025Green Conservation is…
After nearly three years of research, consultation, open discussion, input, feedback, careful revisions and multiple updates – we are incredibly excited to announce that the conservation field has finally reached a definition for “Green Conservation”!
The normative definition describes what green conservation should be based on standards and the aspirational definition describes the ideal goals of green conservation.
The definition can be used to align the sector and all stakeholders on what we aim for when thinking about improving conservation practice. We envision that it can be used to shape policy, advocate for greener options and choices, and drive research, material development, and innovation. Hoping you can see ways that the Green Conservation definition can be useful to you, you can also read more about it on our dedicated page Defining Green Conservation.
