Description

The English Heritage Trust is a charity charged with caring for over 400 historic monuments, buildings and places in England. It has collections with over 1,000,000 objects representing every time period and material.

Contribution

The contribution of EHT in GoGreen will focus on preventive conservation in WP2, developing tools to allow more sustainable environmental control decisions.

Dr. David Thickett FIIC

Dr. David Thickett FIIC is the senior conservation scientist at English Heritage. He specialises in the study of environmental preventive conservation and object response. He has a particular interest in pollution and his recent research has focuses on epidemiology, sustainability, damage functions, acoustic emission, non-invasive testing and showcases. David is a directory board member of the Infra-red and Raman Users Group; UK Expert to CEN TC346, European conservation standards and editorial board member of Heritage Science.

Antanas Melinis

Antanas Melinis is a current PhD student at University College London and the conservation science fellow at English Heritage. He has a background in archaeology, archaeometry, and heritage science, with a specialisation on preventive glass conservation. His other research interests include inorganic material science, research of historical documents and maps, as well as non-destructive analysis using techniques such as X-Ray fluorescence, acoustic emission, and electron microscopy. Antanas is currently a board member of the ICON Heritage Science group.
